  • 04/17/16--05:26: Wrong OEM disk
  • I have a spare Acer Win 7 laptop without a HD, so installed an HP with a different operating system (8). This did not boot so I took out my Dell OEM 7 and install went through, but there are multiple issues such as no network driver, no internet access, drives do not work for download.. OK, it was a hard lesson to learn in using a proprietary OS disk, but I was trying to learn some more...

Hi all, I'm looking for an ISO of Windows 7 Pro 64 to reinstall onto my HP Elitebook 8460p. I wiped my hard drive and stupidly didn't make a recovery disc before doing so and am now left with a notebook without an OS. HP no longer carries the recovery discs and Microsoft doesn't offer the download anymore. I have the key and do not want to pay for another copy of 7. Can anyone help me out? ...

My computer says that it's using BIOS, but when I use the "setup" command on the linux install, I get a message saying that computer is set up with EFI. I have chased down all sorts of info on how to deal with this. The last thing I was trying to do was use these instructions...

I sysprep, OOBE + generalise and capture the image. I then boot off a winpe USB device to create the...

All I see the manufacturer logo with " Lenovo " then restart itself and go back and forth with the same cycle. I want to keep both operating systems but I want the dual boot to be through the BIOS rather than with the boot manager. If the drive with XP fails I want to still be able to boot into 7 by just selecting that drive at the BIOS Boot Menu. XP and Win7 are each on there own Solid State Drive I think this is doable but I have searched and searched and cant find an article on how to do it. Is...

My friend has a HP pavilion dv5-1235dx entertainment notebook PC with windows vista home premium installed. It is the original software because it has the vista recovery partition along with the bloatware. I'm just wondering if I should upgrade to 7 for the sake of it being user-friendly and future updates, but I don't even know if it matters with all these update issues happening on Windows 7. ...

I want to enable my laptop to wake with my HID compliant Logitech mouse but the power management tabs are missing so I ran "powercfg -devicequery wake_from_any" and was surprised to see that neither of my HID Logitech devices were listed. They both work perfectly in every other respect. Having read around the subject I thought that maybe the BIOS was to blame but when I looked there wasn't a...

Hey guys! I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but I'm currently trying out Windows 10, but I'm getting an error which I believe is due to my previous dual-boot consisting of Windows 7 + Antergos w/ Grub. (My friend installed this for me, so I'm not very familiar with this stuff. Before I began the install, I went to windows disk manager and deleted then extended the...

Hello All I have a Dell E5410 Latitude and had 5 win7 installations earlier. Later, only 2 installs behaved as windows (on rest, windows refused to accept as a valid OS). I removed data and formatted the disk using linux. Later installed Windows 7 and it works good still. Problem is, when I install another win7 in a different partition (Primary), it installs fully. But on rebooting...

I have a laptop, and a desktop PC. The desktop PC came with a Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit installation disc. The laptop, however, did not. When I first booted the laptop, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit was ready to setup and didn't need a disc. Recently, my laptop broke, so I wanted to reinstall Windows 7 on it, so I used the disc I got with my desktop PC to do so. It works, but when I try...
