In my case, I have a 32-bit Windows 7 that I wanna upgrade to 64-bit but move all my files, settings, user profile and everything that makes my current OS what it is. The biggest problem currently is reinstalling programs which for whatever reason I cannot...

Problem is that before I do such an upgrade, I would want to create a back up of my Win 7 drive... but at present I have no space left on any of my other...

I know that this is a windows 7 forum but this question is related to Windows and Ubuntu as well. I was going to fix the BCD problem of Windows 7 through Boot-Repair software in Ubuntu. But the boot-repair is stuck in to the window and saying- "Purge and reinstall kernels on the sda6(dwn) .This might take several minutes". If this only purge the Linux Kernel and don't reinstall it then I...

Hi I have a Dell Precision 390 desktop pc (yes I know it's old!). I bought an SSD to boost performance, speed and capacity. The install and data transfer was a breeze - done this before without issues on another pc. All looked good, new drive recognized, all data seemed to be present, so the next step was to change the boot priority in BIOS. Due to time constraints I didn't start this...

I'm building a new W7 PC with a 250GB Samsung 970 Evo NVMe M.2 SSD boot drive. From what I'm reading online, it seems that this might be a complicated process. It's occurred to me that an easier method might be to install Windows onto a conventional SATA HDD, add all the necessary updates and drivers, then clone it to the SSD. Comments?

Reinstalling: why not simply run setup from CD

Hi everyone. Now I have to reinstall Win 7 on a machine and I wonder: we are commonly recommended after putting in the CD to restart and boot from it. But why? Why the hassle when after insertion autorun prompts me to run setup.exe so why not use it, so much simpler? Doesn’t it work the same way after that?

Hi, I know I am behind the times but I have just reluctantly changed from Windows XP to Windows 7 Pro which I installed from a Microsoft DVD. Prior to the installation my computer had available a C drive, a Samsung 120 GB SSD; a D drive, a DVD R/W SATA; and an E drive, a 2TB HDD which was also used for extra storage and back up. All were working perfectly. I now have the following problem....

*What is it for ?* It gets Windows 7 ISO image (any language, any architecture), download all post-SP1 updates directly from Microsoft site and create new bootable Windows 7 ISO (with all updates integrated). It also removes all bloatware (Telemetry, Diagnostics, Windows Defender). _In short: it turns Windows 7 SP1 DVD into Windows 7 Dec 2018 edition DVD._ And it is...
