So a friend of mine has a Lenovo X140e laptop and it came with an SSD of 128GB. He wanted a larger 512GB and bought one. Gave it to me and I cloned the drive using AOMEI. Everything went fine and completed, but when I installed the 512GB drive it will not boot. The Lenovo screen appears then goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left cornet and that's all it does.

Should product key be on motherboard?
Just bought a used laptop which originally had xp on and was upgraded to Windows 7 by the seller. There is no windows 7 disk with the laptop.
Anyway virus scanned it, and ran show key to get the product key. It's an OEM copy of Windows 7 professional but show key says the key is not on the motherboard. I had intended to do a clean install using the product key - but now just wondering if...

I am ready to do a fresh Windows 7 install on my older Dell laptop (I'm assuming I can do this from the repair screens using F8 at reboot). I've found a few older threads that specify a sequence of steps, but they are a few years old and wonder if there is an update to the process to speed up all the updates...

Permissions on old SSD C: Drive - cannot copy files to new C: drive
